- Highways: More than 70 percent of the U.S. marketplace is within a day's drive of Oak Ridge. Pellissippi Parkway – a four-lane, divided highway – connects Oak Ridge with Interstates 40, 75 and 81, and the city is served by four state highways.
- Railroads: CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern serve Oak Ridge with outlets to industries and business parks within the city.
- Air Service: Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport – less than 30 minutes from Oak Ridge – offers more than 140 daily flights, many direct to major U.S. cities.
- Waterways: The Clinch River and Melton Hill Lake connect Oak Ridge to the Inland Waterway System, Great Lakes ports and the Gulf of Mexico via the Tennessee River and Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.
- Foreign Trade Zone: For companies that import or export goods or components, Oak Ridge has a designated duty-free foreign trade zone.
- Commercial Carriers: 33 motor carriers serve the area along with several overnight carriers including Federal Express and UPS.
- National Transportation Research Center (NTRC): Featuring more than 160 researchers from ORNL and UT, NTRC has over 83,000 square feet of space, including several user centers available for collaboration with private industry on a host of transportation issues.
